Fairs are a common ground today. You can commonly see fliers, and advertisements about fairs nowadays. They are mostly held in big cities like in Makati, Bonifacio Global City, Ortigas, and etc. These kinds of events are very thrilling to attend to because there are things that you can and will find here but not anywhere else.

In fact the fair or the event that I’m going to feature in this blog post is the 1^st every fair that I attended, and what a relief that I decided to go with an Art Fair. But this not just an art fair. This was the Art Fair Philippines.

Art Fairs like these are very interesting and a very good idea because it provides a platform and an area where Local Artists, New & Upcoming Artists, and also Old Artists can show some of their works and masterpieces. It can help them sell their work to clients and companies not only here in the Philippines but also from other countries.

I was so excited when I decided to attend this year’s Art Fair Philippines, but I thought I need someone with me to appreciate all of the art that I will be seeing. Luckily my friend Franzen was available that day, so yeah! And let me tell we had fun, we didn’t knew that Filipinos can really be this artistic and different and multiple ways possible.

My favorite piece from the whole Art Fair was this Tuxedo that was made with Carbon-based fabric. And what made it more mesmerizing for me was it was hand-drawn all over, its design was like an armor-like figure. A spokesperson of the artist was present that day and he told us that the entire design was hand-drawn and drawn with just a BALLPEN. Yes, a ballpen – so that excluded my liking. So, I asked how much is it, but he told me that it was already sold to client in Singapore with a price of 300,000 dollars.

I really recommend you guys attending events or fairs like these. Nothing compares to what you will experience and see during these kinds of events. They have things that you wouldn’t normally see anywhere. So if you happen to see ads with these kinds of events go! And I’ll be seeing you at next year’s Art Fair Philippines 2018!

Spending the weekend right is always a big part, it’s like for me I should always have a plan on how to spend my weekends. So these two weekends – July 8 to 9 & July 15 to 16 – was really jampacked. And both was mostly spent in Tagaytay – one of my fave getaway spot near Metro Manila.

So the 1^st weekend was actually really tiring, because last July 8, 2017 was the opening of the NCAA Season 93 at MOA Arena. And being a member of the Altas Perpsquad, we are required to attend. So our call time was at 8am and the ceremony doesn’t start until 12pm. The day was filled with excitement and fun because a new season for all the athletes is about to begin.

We got back to UPHSD at around 3pm then had a meeting that lasted up until 4pm. That was the only time that I had the chance to head out to Tagaytay and commute. Because my family was already at a hotel in Tagaytay for the weekend so I just needed to catch up to them. The commute/travel time lasted about 3 hours. Even though the travel time was a hassle, thankfully the food didn’t disappoint especially the Breakfast Buffet the following morning. We spent the weekend at The Lake Hotel Tagaytay, and can I just say - if you want a nice place to spent days in Tagaytay and without sacrificing quality, well this is the place.

The next weekend was also filled with festivities. On the Saturday, I attended my 1^st session of review for the UPCAT and other College Entrance Exams out there via Diliman Access. And got filled with knowledge especially with Physics.

After that I headed off straight to Tagaytay, our dismissal time was actually at 5pm so eventually I got at Tagaytay at around 8pm in the evening. Luckily my fam was in a good mood, so I told them why not have dinner at Pamana Restaurant – the restaurant owned by the family of Heart Evangelista – and boy did they not disappoint.

The next day, it was mostly held at Talisay, Batangas where we went touring around Taal Lake, then have grilled seafood because we know down there the seafood is fresh.

Not a second was wasted through the course of these 2 weekends. Such a fun filled way to get out of the city and its bustling work. Hoping for more days like these.

If you want a place to stay in Tagaytay, do contact me through my e-mail {troyjacob.quinan@gmail.com} and I’ll recommend you to a hotel like getaway.

Last October 14 2016, was a magical day indeed. The moment I stepped on the train, I was met with all these iconic symbols that everyone knows. This iconic symbol depicts and also nourished my very childhood actually up until now even though I’m already 17 years old, I still love what it represents. It resonated through different ages from children to those who are children at heart. The symbol I’m referring to is the iconic symbol of Disney. The train ride was ecstatic, it was filled with joy and laughter especially from kids who are also on their way to one of the happiest places on earth – Disneyland.

I cannot forget what the speaker on the train told us during our train ride, she said “Have a Magical Adventure ahead…” The moment you stepped off the famous train of Disneyland, you are instantly met with structural aspects that resonate up until inside the park. The first thing you will see of course is the famous arc that said Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, next to that is the statue of Mickey surfing on top of a whale.

My favorite part of the amusement park was actually located at the entrance which is the train station where you can ride the train and roam around the entire vicinity of Disneyland. All the rides are very child friendly – when you look at it from a teenager or an adult point of view – but I know that’s the point, is to make you feel like a child again when you take on these rides and that just what it did to me.

Talking about the architectures inside, well it was pretty amazing. All the nooks and cranny of each every infrastructure of the park was so detailed that you would think you’re in a stage where they would film Disney scenes. It was all amazing from the main street of Disneyland up until Toy Story Land - which actually impressed me because they made even the grass really huge to make the feel of every person who comes, comes in feeling like a toy. Disneyland was celebrating Halloween Season at that time so the park was mostly designed with ornaments that are Autumn inspired like giant pumpkins, fallen leaves, and etc.

I would like to appreciate and say thank you to all the mascots, actors, and all the personnel in the park because they really completed the very feel and idea of the park with all of their roles and the joy that they emit to the crowd.

Taking note of what the speaker said to us on the train to the park. It was really a Magical Adventure and Experience to cherish, up until I grow up. I promise I’ll be back to this place, and I’ll visit all the other Disneyland that are found around the world.
