Wandering Meets Helping
|Personal & Travel|
Roaming around one’s
own country is already a success but what if there comes a moment where you’re
still not capable of doing so. Why not roam around one’s own city, area, or
vicinity. I for one am a proud traveler almost anywhere, but I decided that why not roam and wander around here in my city, at the South of the Metro – Las
Piñas City.
Actually this was not
sudden, it was already sort of pre-planned because we were given a task by one
of our professors that we should conduct a community service of any kind. Any
kind meaning that it is up to us to figure what we’re gonna do as long as we
can contribute or help others. So the four of us got together, and discussed
that we would simply give out food and snacks to those who are less fortunate
than us especially children that we would come across with during our wandering.
We decided to go with
my friend’s village located at the vicinity behind our university. The moment
we stepped off the tricycle that we rode on, we saw kids walking along
the streets but these are not kids that possess a normal life of a normal
child. So we decided to give them a treat.
This habit went on and on and we didn’t even noticed that we were almost out of goods. At some point we came across a guard house and we decided why not give the men and women inside a treat for doing a good job in a long hard days of work. Also to show gratitude that we are thankful that they keep our surroundings protected.
No matter how big and
small your action will be, well it will not matter. From that experience I
realize and saw that with what we were doing, we were not only giving treats
out to them because we need to finish the project. No, I saw that even if the
things that we were doing were so small and would only last a few minutes you can
really see how happy the kids and people were when we handed out treats to
them. Another thing is that I was and am happy that I got to share a little bit
of my being fortunate with them and not just keeping it all to myself.
